Acajutla, El Salvador

Acajutla is the principle seaport of El Salvador. The deepwater harbor houses the port cargo loading facilities that allow marine shipment of a large portion of the country's exports, including coffee, sugar, and Balsam. The town is not large or bustling, but instead it provides a calm, comfortable atmosphere with friendly people and marvelous beaches. Los Cabanos Beach is long and covered in white sand with blue waters housing abundant reefs. It is a well-known location for divers who come from all around to flock to the resort to enjoy a long diving tour. Nearby are opportunities to take chartered fishing boats, high-flying canopy tours, and walking tours of the Izalco Volcano.
